Objectives
Urgently remove two large, failed eucalyptus tree that had been uprooted and fallen onto the roofs of school buildings at Jewells on the NSW Central Coast.
Challenges
The major challenge with this contract:
Both trees were completely uprooted and resting on, and supported by the school buildings.
The call was made to Enviro on the weekend and the make safe was required to be done prior to the school reopening on the Monday morning.
Due to the size and instability of the trees, a crane was required to stabilise and allow removal and dismantling of the trees.
Due to the time constraints, this job extended into the evening.
All tree debris (approximately 30 cubic metres) had to be removed from site.
Solutions
Enviro Trees assessed three local Tree Partners and allocated this job to a local Tree Partner with the skills and experience required to undertake a job with this risk profile.
Initial site assessment was undertaken swiftly the same day on the Saturday, and pricing and proposed methodology for safe removal was agreed.
Liaison with a local crane company took place to enable a crane and operators to be onsite the next day, on a Sunday.
Liaison with a lighting company enabled this job to continue into the evening on Sunday night.
An extra truck was engaged to allow all mulch to be removed from site.
Our Tree Partner liaised with the Enviro Trees Customer Care team along with the Facilities Manager, to arrange access and confirmation of approval to proceed.
The tree was dismantled and mulched and removed from the site and the site left clean tidy.
