Port Macquarie Weather Bomb

Objectives

To respond to multiple emergency make safe requests from the NSW State Emergency Service in the Port Macquarie region on the NSW mid North coast, as an intense system with winds of up to 120 km per hour impacted the community, resulting in a trail of destruction.

Challenges

  • Swiftly mobilise enough tree partners to make safe multiple properties from fallen trees in a short space of time.

  • Provide compassion to affected homeowners whilst remaining professional.

  • Ensure clear communication between Tree Partners, SES teams on the ground, homeowners and tenants and our operations team.

Solutions

Using our Tree Manager™ platform and Tree Partner network, we were able to source a number of tree partners from neighbouring towns to provide support to the Port Macquarie SES in a timely manner. Thank you to our tree partners who actively worked in the area, for their responsiveness and professionalism, and to Enviro Trees Operations and Customer Care team for the dedication and diligence over that weekend in coordinating with our tree partners and customers to ensure we delivered the level of service demanded.

The rapid response including dispatch of a team of contractors from up and down the coast to assist in removing trees that were outside the scope of SES personnel was appreciated. The provision of elevated work platforms, crane’s and excavators as required greatly assisted not just in the clean-up of the trees but also in assessing damage to properties
