Tree Works Code of Practice

Safe Work NSW has recently formalised and issued the Tree Works Code of Practice, which provides practical guidance on managing work health and safety risks in tree work.

This is an approved code of practice under section 274 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and outlines effective ways to identify hazards, manage risks, and meet required safety standards under the WHS Act and WHS Regulation.

We strongly encourage all Tree Partners to take the time to review the Code in detail and consider how it applies across your business, including employees, subcontractors, contractors, full-time and part-time workers.

This is an important resource for the industry and a timely reminder to review current systems, site practices, training, supervision, and documentation to ensure they align with the guidance provided.

We would also like to acknowledge the significant contribution of the Tree Contractors Association of Australia in helping shape this Code for the tree industry.

Please take the time to read through the document below and share it with your teams.
